Alison Coffey

Registered Physiotherapist

Tsawwassen

Alison graduated from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. While completing this degree, she competed as an NCAA Division I athlete, playing fastpitch. This is where her interest in the human body, injuries and rehab first began as she navigated injuries of her own. Alison then went on to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy at UBC in 2013.

Since graduating, Alison has taken on a wide spectrum of clients in her practice, including athletes, children, and the elderly, dealing with everything from sprained ankles, to back injuries and post-operative rehab. She has special interest in neck and low back injuries, and since having children has become extremely passionate about helping post-partum individuals return to their previous activities, passions, and function. Alison’s main goal as a physiotherapist is to work with you and your goals getting you back to your activities with the skills and knowledge to prevent re-injury.

Continuing education is a priority in Alison’s practice and she has taken numerous professional development courses including up to Level 3 of the Manual Therapy certification from the Orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has also completed courses for anatomical acupuncture (CAFCI), functional dry needling, (FDN), and Julie Wiebe Piston Science levels 1 and 2.

In her personal time Alison enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, going to the gym, reading, and spending time outdoors.
